~/acme-app — claude

> before you start on exports, check why we're building it and what customers expect

⏺ devplan-remote - search_entities (MCP)(query: "exports")

⎿ Found 12 customer requests, 1 project, 2 decisions

⏺ devplan-remote - fetch_internal_entities_by_ids (MCP)(ids: 3)

⎿ Read 3 records

⏺ 12 customers asked for faster reports and exports, mostly finance teams closing the month. What they expect:

  • Choose which columns to export 8 customers
  • Exports that finish in under a minute 5 tickets
  • No PDF export this quarter decision, Sep 12

I'll plan for column selection first and skip PDF. Want me to start?

> summarize recent customer feedback about onboarding and cite the evidence

⏺ devplan-remote - search_entities (MCP)(query: "onboarding feedback")

⎿ Found 9 requests across support tickets and sales calls

⏺ Three themes, by number of customers:

  • Setup takes too many steps 5 customers
  • Invites get lost in spam 3 tickets
  • No sample data to try things 2 sales calls

Each theme links back to the tickets and calls in Devplan.

> before editing billing, check for product decisions I should respect

⏺ devplan-remote - query_workspace_graph (MCP)(topic: "billing")

⎿ 2 decisions, 1 open customer request

⏺ Two decisions apply here:

  • Annual plans keep their price until renewal decision, Sep 18
  • No new payment provider this quarter decision, Oct 2

I'll keep both in the change and leave the payment provider as it is.

> what's left on the reporting project?

⏺ devplan-remote - list_workspace_projects (MCP)(query: "reporting")

⎿ 1 project · 11 tickets

⏺ 8 of 11 tickets are done. Left:

  • Export column picker in progress
  • Permissions check not started
  • Help docs not started

One risk: it depends on another team's API, which is 2 days late.

  3. Approve in the browser and pick your Devplan workspace. Done.

Read the MCP setup guide →

$ claude mcp add --transport http devplan-remote https://app.devplan.com/api/v1/mcp

✔ Then ask: “Use Devplan to list projects in this workspace.”

Same prompt, different result

Without the why, Claude guesses.

Claude Code alone

> add CSV export to reports

⏺ I'll add an Export button that downloads every column as CSV. I can add PDF too.

  • Builds what the ticket says
  • Misses what customers need
  • Breaks a decision nobody told it about

Claude Code with Devplan

> add CSV export to reports

⏺ devplan-remote - search_entities (MCP)

⏺ 8 of the 12 customers who asked need to pick columns, and PDF is ruled out this quarter. I'll build the column picker first.

  • Starts from what customers asked for
  • Respects past decisions
  • Cites the evidence so you can check it

Ask it before you build it.

Questions

Devplan for Claude Code, answered

How do I connect Devplan to Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add --transport http devplan-remote https://app.devplan.com/api/v1/mcp, then complete the authorization in your browser: pick your Devplan workspace and choose Authorize. See the MCP setup guide.

What is MCP?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is how Devplan connects to Claude Code: it's a standard for linking AI clients to tools and data. Devplan runs a remote MCP server, so Claude Code can use your workspace context without you pasting it into every prompt.

Does it work with Codex, Cursor or other AI clients?

Yes. Codex connects with codex mcp add, and any client that supports remote HTTP MCP servers can add the same URL: https://app.devplan.com/api/v1/mcp.

What can Claude Code see in Devplan?

The workspace you authorize: customer feedback, decisions, projects and documents from the tools you connected to Devplan. Some tools can start planning or update content, depending on how your workspace is set up, so review what Claude proposes.

Do I need to be a developer to use it?

No. Product managers use Claude Code to ask about customers, decisions and projects without writing code. Read Claude Code for product managers.

What does it cost?

Devplan starts with $100 in free credits, valid for 3 months, with no card. After that you buy credits for one shared pool, with no per-seat charge. See pricing.
